As I created this painting I was remembering days on the beach as the tide went out. Little streams and bits and pieces were left behind as the water receded. The clean firm sand is uncovered, its smooth surface cool and firm to walk on.
I used a palette of blues-greens and gold metallic acrylics, with a selection of mark-making tools as I painted. Texture was added using mesh as a stencil and by dragging a silicone wedge through the wet paint.
20 cm square on a deep box canvas, the finished artwork is ready to hang. And will be shown in the next Members Exhibition at Eagle Gallery which opens on 22 October.
